Trump on AI-generated Taylor Swift images: ‘I don’t know anything about them’
(The Hill) — Former President Trump said he doesn’t know “anything about” the artificial intelligence-generated images of pop star Taylor Swift showing support for his campaign that were posted to his Truth Social site.
FOX Business Network correspondent Grady Trimble asked Trump on Wednesday if he was worried that he would be sued by Swift after the images were posted online Tuesday.
“I don’t know anything about them, other than somebody else generated them. I didn’t generate them,” Trump responded.
The former president said someone said “look at this,” and said the photos were “all made up by other people.”
“AI is always very dangerous in that way,” he said.
One of the images posted online shows Swift dressed as Uncle Sam and says, “Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump.”
Another image appears to originally have been posted on the social platform X and is labeled satire, showing women dressed in “Swifties for Trump” shirts. It says “Swifties turning to Trump after ISIS foiled Taylor Swift concert.”
Earlier this month, Swift’s concerts in Vienna were canceled after officials found a plan to attack event attendees. Austrian authorities say suspects were inspired by the Islamic State and al Qaeda.
The photos come as fans speculate if the singer will endorse Trump’s Democratic opponent, Vice President Harris. Swift voiced support for President Biden’s 2020 campaign.
While it’s not known how much enthusiasm a Swift endorsement would generate, the singer was able to get 35,000 new voter registrations in 2020 after posting online about Vote.org.
Trump has also posted artificial intelligence-generated images of Harris speaking at a communist event, calling her “Comrade Kamala.”
The former president said Wednesday that AI-generated content of him is also being shared online.
“It’s happening with me too. They’re making — having me speak. I speak perfectly, I mean absolutely perfectly on AI, and I’m, like, endorsing other products and things,” he said. “It’s a little bit dangerous out there.”
