GASTONIA, N.C. (WJZY/WNCN) — Police say they are seeking “brazen” armed robbery suspects at a Gastonia convenience store who then robbed another store just 20 minutes later.
According to the Gastonia Police Department, the incident occurred around 12:10 a.m. on Monday, August 19 at the Times Turn Around on South New Hope Road. Surveillance video shows three masked and armed people entering the business.
In the video, the masks cover all but the eyes of the suspects, two have hooded sweatshirts, and one has bright blue shoes.
Officers say they arrived in a black Nissan Altima with dark-tinted windows and blacked-out wheels.
A fourth person was waiting in the car while the others went inside the Turn Around store, police said.
“Help us get these dangerous people off the street,” Gastonia police said.
Police believe the suspects also robbed a Circle K on Wilkinson Boulevard in Belmont 20 minutes after they swarmed the Turn Around.
“This was pretty brazen, and that concerns us. The clerks saw them coming and ran out the back to safety,” a Gastonia police spokesperson said.
Police are not releasing the details of what the suspects may have stolen from the businesses.
Officers said anyone who recognizes the suspects should call Gastonia police detectives at 704-866-6069.
