(NewsNation) — On the heels of his sixth studio album, county music star Dustin Lynch is wondering: Is it “weird” to be single at 39?
“You know, this far along in life, (I’m) still loving the freedom of adventure and just saying ‘Yes’ to whatever and going to do fun stuff,” Lynch told NewsNation’s Kurt Bardella.
Lynch’s latest album, “Killed the Cowboy,” reached No. 47 on Billboard’s Top U.S. Country Albums in 2023. The writing, recording, touring and promoting proved, among other things, that he’s still comfortable being a bachelor.
“And I think through promoting this album and talking about the album, I got my answer,” Lynch said. “And the answer is, ‘Yeah, let’s ride the wave.’ You know, (it can be) a struggle to be the best version of myself. And this album kind of helped me figure out it’s kind of cool where I’m at right now, and so I’m just embracing that.”
Lynch continues to work on his farm when he’s not recording or touring, one of the reasons why he may find internet gossip and rumors about him a little “funny.”
“It’s great to be top of mind and maybe thinking (a listener) will throw us on the playlist the next time they’re on the boat or something,” he said. “But yeah, they’re there. It is funny to be in this light where people are interested in every facet (of your life).”
