Cards Against Humanity (CAH) is suing Elon Musk’s SpaceX for $15 million after it allegedly left construction equipment and destroying property on CAH land in Texas.

The complaint, which was filed Thursday evening in Cameron County District Court, details the original state of the land along the U.S.-Mexico border, which CAH worked to keep “in its natural state.” Photographs in the complaint show its current state, filled with equipment and materials not belonging to CAH.

“In short, SpaceX has treated the Property as its own for at least six (6) months without regard for CAH’s property rights nor the safety of anyone entering what has become a worksite that is presumably governed by OSHA safety requirements,” the complaint reads.

In an email screenshotted and shared on X, CAH shared an update about the parcel of land, which was purchased in 2017 to protect from “racist billionaire Donald Trump’s very stupid wall,” through a crowd-funding effort.

“We promised we’d use every legal tool at our disposal to protect this land from bullies like Trump and Musk (who’s spending millions to get Trump elected and also wants to build the stupid wall)” CAH wrote in a statement. “If we don’t take action now, why would anyone ever trust us again?”

The card game company said that SpaceX, Musk’s space exploration company, offered to buy the land at half its value, to which they responded with the lawsuit. The email, sent to all the donors who contributed $15 to the company’s campaign, said that CAH will send those donors up to $100 each, should they win the lawsuit.

“Unfortunately. Musk has way more money and lawyers than we do, so you’ll probably get, like, $2 tops,” the email said.

CAH has historically supported the Democratic Party, donating upwards of $40,000 to Democratic candidates in the 2020 cycle.

“SpaceX’s acts have caused damage to both relationships in a variety of ways, but, in particular, by creating the impression that there is some association between CAH and SpaceX. SpaceX’s acts constitute a willful and intentional interference with these relationships,” the complaint states.

Neither CAH nor SpaceX has responded to The Hill request for comment.
