ARCHES NATIONAL PARK, Utah (ABC4) — A 68-year-old New Jersey man fell to his death at Arches National Park on Tuesday morning, according to the National Park Service (NPS).
The NPS release said a man fell approximately 30 feet near the Black Arch overlook on the Devil’s Garden Trail. NPS states park rangers responded to a call saying CPR was in progress.
Multiple agencies responded to the area, including the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, Grand County EMS, Classic Air Medical, and the Department of Public Safety.
CPR efforts were unsuccessful and the 68-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. NPS says Grand County Sheriff’s and the NPS are investigating the incident and no further information is available.
This death comes just days after a Utah man died while canyoneering in Zion National Park over the previous weekend.
