Former President Trump is leading Vice President Harris by a narrow 4 points in Florida, according to a new survey of likely voters in the state.

The Marist poll, released Thursday, shows Trump with 51 percent support and Harris with 47 percent support in the state; 1 percent of likely voters supports another party’s candidate, while 1 percent is undecided.

Among independents, Harris leads Trump 55 percent to 41 percent — an improvement on President Biden’s 11-point advantage over Trump among Florida independents in 2020.

The latest poll aligns with some recent national polling showing Black and Latino voters shifting away from the Democratic Party, as its support among white voters ticks up slightly.

Trump’s support among Latino voters in Florida has increased since 2020, when he received 46 percent of the state’s Latino vote. Now, according to the latest survey, Trump leads Harris, 58 percent to 40 percent, among Latino likely voters in Florida.

Harris, meanwhile, has the advantage among Black voters, 76 percent to 24 percent, but she falls short of the 89 percent support that Biden received in Florida in 2020.

Among white likely voters, Trump leads Harris, 53 percent to 45 percent, but he fails to reach the 62 percent support he received in 2020.

The recent poll also shows a 15-point gender gap between the candidates, with Trump leading Harris among men, 55 percent to 43 percent, and Harris leading Trump among women, 51 percent to 48 percent. In 2020, according to the poll, there was a 12-point gender gap between Trump and Biden.

Trump’s 4-point lead in the recent Marist poll is consistent with the 4.4-point advantage he has over Harris, in The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s state polling average.

The poll was conducted Oct. 3-7 and included interviews with 1,257 likely voters in Florida. The margin of error is 3.6 percentage points.
