(NewsNation) — The United States has conducted airstrikes in Syria against multiple known ISIS camps, according to the U.S. Central Command
The airstrikes occurred early morning Friday, according to a statement posted to X Saturday morning.
“The strikes will disrupt the ability of ISIS to plan, organize and conduct attacks against the United States, its allies and partners and civilians throughout the region and beyond,” the U.S. Central Command said.
The statement added that battle damage assessments are ongoing and there are no known civilian casualties.
It follows two U.S. airstrikes in the region last month which killed 37 militants affiliated with the Islamic State group and an al-Qaeda-linked group, along with two of its senior militants.
