Robert Sherman is a national correspondent for NewsNation. Based out of Austin, Texas, he joined NewsNation as a border correspondent.
Sherman was one of the first national cable news reporters on the ground covering the war in Ukraine. Sherman reported from locations that were later destroyed by Russian armed forces, capturing the fear and uncertainty faced by Ukranians as they desperately attempted to flee the war zone.
Sherman comes to NewsNation after spending two years reporting for Fox News Channel. There, he was tasked with covering some of the nation’s biggest stories including the trial of Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin, the 2021 Virginia Governor’s race, the 2021 Georgia Senate Runoffs, the search for Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie, the Dixie wildfire in California, as well as Hurricanes Ida, Laura, Sally and Delta.
Prior to working for Fox News, Sherman was a reporter for WIAT (CBS 42) in Birmingham, Alabama. The Alabama Broadcaster’s Association honored him with the award for “Best General Assignment Report” in 2020.
Sherman is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana where he studied Communications and Economics.
