(NewsNation) — Netflix’s “Dirty Pop: The Boy Band Scam,” examines how talent manager Lou Pearlman launched the careers of iconic boy bands including NSYNC, the Backstreet Boys and Natural.

It also exposes one of the longest-running Ponzi schemes in U.S. history, detailing how Pearlamn scammed clients out of at least $500 million before he was caught by the FBI.

Natural former drummer Michael Johnson, the executive producer of the docuseries, said Pearlman was a “master manipulator” and “incredible and weaponizing people’s dreams.”

Natural former lead singer Ben Bledsoe said he never felt “terribly uncomfortable” in Pearlman’s presence.”
