Missing Texas mom Suzanne Simpson’s sister: ‘There’s no hope’

  • Suzanne Simpson's husband arrested, suspected of murder
  • Brad Simpson currently held on $5 million bond
  • Neighbor says he heard screams through his window

(NewsNation) — Suzanne Simpson‘s sister said that when she first heard the news that the Texas mother of four was missing, she knew her sister “was already in heaven.”

The Texas realtor has been missing since Oct. 6, and her husband has now been charged with murder.

“I knew as soon as I heard that my sister had been missing for 16 hours, she was no longer with us,” Simpson’s sister said exclusively Thursday on NewsNation’s “Banfield.” “There’s no hope. I knew immediately. She’s in heaven. That’s all there is to it.”

Husband Brad Simpson, 53, was charged last week in Bexar County with the murder of Suzanne, 51. He is currently jailed on a total of $5 million in bonds on charges of murder, unlawful restraint, assault, tampering with evidence and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The search for Suzanne Simpson continues. Authorities say the areas they’re looking have included a wooded area around the couple’s home, a landfill and an area near where Brad Simpson was arrested along Interstate 10.

The murder charge comes just more than a month after Suzanne Simpson was last seen alive outside the couple’s home in Olmos Park, where police have said a neighbor reported seeing the couple fighting. The neighbor said he saw a “physical altercation” and that screams could be heard before Brad Simpson drove off in his pickup truck.

“We hope that (charges) will allow (Simpson’s family) to enter the next phase of the grieving process,” Olmos Park Police Chief Fidel Villegas said during a news conference. “We want them to know that the search for Suzanne is still ongoing.”
