- $10k reward for info leading to conviction of Rachel Morin’s killer
- The suspect is still on the run, could offend again, police say
- A celebration of life for Morin is set for Sunday afternoon
(NewsNation) — Rachel Morin disappeared after she went for a run on a well-used trail in Bel Air, Maryland, and her body was found the next day. NewsNation’s Evan Lambert visited the trail where she went missing.
The mother of five had gone for a run on the Ma and Pa trail, a popular destination packed with runners, hikers and cyclists. It’s the kind of well-traveled trail where people go to be safe while exploring the great outdoors.
As NewsNation found, some are taking additional precautions after Morin’s death, including carrying safety whistles and pepper spray as they travel on the trail.
It’s not clear where the suspect went after Morin’s death, into the woods, further along the trail or back to the parking lot which leads to a highway.
The suspect is also connected to a home invasion in Los Angeles, according to authorities. They’ve released surveillance video of the suspect in hopes of finding information that leads to his capture.
Until they do, police say, the community isn’t safe.
