(NewsNation) — Technology like artificial intelligence is changing the way people work, and some jobs are expected to grow while others are at risk of being replaced.

According to a new report from the World Economic Forum (WEF), bank tellers, cashiers and administrative assistants are among the jobs expected to decline by 2030.

Meanwhile, technology roles like big data specialists, software developers and security management specialists are forecasted to be some of the fastest-growing jobs worldwide.

Those findings are based on a survey of more than 1,000 companies around the world, representing more than 14 million workers across 22 industries and 55 economies.

The report looked at how macrotrends will impact jobs and skills from 2025 to 2030 — and how employers plan to respond.

Frontline job roles — like farmworkers, delivery drivers and construction workers — are predicted to see the largest growth in absolute terms, the report found. Care economy jobs like nursing professionals and personal care aides are also expected to grow significantly.

On the other hand, clerical and secretarial workers like cashiers and ticket clerks are expected to see the largest decline in absolute numbers by 2030.

“On average, workers can expect that two-fifths (39%) of their existing skill sets will be transformed or become outdated over the 2025-2030 period,” the report said.

But it’s not all bad news. Worldwide, the WEF estimates 170 million new jobs will be created by 2030 compared to 92 million jobs lost — resulting in net growth of 78 million jobs.

As far as the most valuable skills: Analytical thinking is the most sought after, with seven out of 10 companies considering it as essential in 2025. That’s followed by resilience, flexibility and agility, along with leadership and social influence, per the report.
