SAN JOSE, Calif. (NewsNation) — Zoom is “deploying a fix” following a massive outage for users of the video conferencing software Monday morning.
“Thanks for hanging in there! We are deploying a fix now,” Zoom tweeted. “Service should be restored for some users and we’re continuing to complete the fix for any users still impacted. We’re sorry about the disruption.”
The problems started around 8:10 a.m. EST as students tried to log on for remote learning and employees attempted to join work-related meetings, Downdetector data shows Downdetector is a website that provides real-time status and outage information for various online services.
At 9 a.m. EST, nearly 17,000 users reported problems using Zoom on Downdetector, but reports of outages appear to be slowing down.
Zoom pointed users to status.zoom.us for updates.
