What’s open, what’s closed on Labor Day
CHICAGO (NewsNation Now) — Labor Day is looking unique in 2020 amid economic challenges and a pandemic.
Here’s a list of what’s closed and open on the federal government holiday:
📬 There will be no mail delivery and post offices will be closed on Monday. There is one exception: Priority Mail Express will be delivered.
📦 UPS will not have pickup or delivery services. Some retail stores may be closed, as well. UPS Express Critical will still deliver. Similarly, FedEx packages will not be delivered, although some stores could be open.
💵 Most banks will be closed on Monday.
📈 The Nasdaq stock market and New York Stock Exchange will be closed.
🛒Most grocery stores and retailers will be opened, but some could have modified hours. At least one national chain — Costco Wholesale is closed.
💊 Many pharmacies are closed or have reduced on Monday, but chains like Walgreens, CVS and Rite-Aid appear to have some locations open 24/7.
🏛 Most government offices are closed on Labor Day. The National Park Service is on a park-by-park basis. Some are also closed due to the pandemic or wildfires.
The COVID-19 pandemic may impact store hours as well, so it’s best to call ahead.
