3 face drug charges after deputies seize marijuana, fentanyl
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana arrested three accused drug dealers after an investigation.
Agents investigated a poly-drug trafficking operation in Baton Rouge, identifying the suspects as Kevin Brown, 60, and Eric Williams, 41.
According to the sheriff’s office, agents went through hours of surveillance and identified multiple locations Brown and Williams were using.
EBRSO said agents also conducted two controlled purchases of fentanyl from Brown and one narcotics seizure of Hydrocodone prescription pills from Williams. On Thursday, Oct. 10, agents executed six search warrants. The sheriff’s office said the following items were seized.
- 23.2 grams of powder fentanyl.
- 53 dosage units of fentanyl pills.
- 2.64 ounces of crystal methamphetamine.
- 26.1 grams of marijuana.
- 2.9 grams of powder cocaine.
- 8.5 grams of crack cocaine.
- 31.5 dosage units of Hydrocodone.
- 3 dosage units of Buprenorphine.
- Digital scales.
- Narcotics cutting agent.
- Two blenders (one with cocaine residue).
- Boxes of plastic bags.
- $46,118.
- Two firearms.
During an interview, Brown admitted that all of the narcotics in the hotel belonged to him. According to EBRSO, he “stated the gun was left by someone, but he knew it was in the hotel room.” Brown also admitted to selling narcotics for six months, the sheriff’s office said.
Roma Zerangue, 55, told deputies Brown had been selling narcotics for eight years. According to the sheriff’s office, Zerangue also admitted that the narcotics located at one of the sites may have been hers, but she wasn’t sure.
Brown was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I drug (marijuana), possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (fentanyl), possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (crystal methamphetamine), possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (powder cocaine), possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (crack cocaine), possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (Hydrocodone), possession with the intent to distribute Schedule III drug (Buprenorphine), operation of a clandestine lab, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Williams was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drugs (Hydrocodone) and illegal possession of drug proceeds.
Zerangue was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (fentanyl), possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (crystal methamphetamine), possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (powder cocaine), possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
