Arrest made after line-cutting dispute leads to shooting at pizzeria
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — An arrest has been made in connection to a shooting which police say began as a dispute over line-cutting at an Ohio pizza shop in late September.
According to court records, Columbus police arrested Willie Stephens as a suspect who is believed to have shot three people at the Del Baggio Pizzeria at the intersection of East Fifth and Summit avenues.
Police found two people suffering from gunshot wounds to the back. Both were taken to a hospital but were stable. A third victim reportedly went on their own to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the torso.
Police said the dispute began after the victims cut in line at the pizza shop, leading to an argument between Stephens and the victims. No other injuries were reported.
Stephens was identified by video evidence from the scene and arrested Tuesday. He is charged with three counts of felonious assault, and a Franklin County Municipal Court judge issued him a $750,000 bond. He is next scheduled to appear in court Oct. 11 for a preliminary hearing.
