(NewsNation) — U.S Marshalls captured a teen who escaped police custody after he was on the run for five days.

Shane Pryor, 17, was captured on a city bus in Philadelphia on Sunday night, closing out the manhunt that began when he escaped from custody at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Pryor was being taken to the hospital to have a hand injury treated and he managed to escape from a car in the parking lot of the Emergency Room.

It’s unclear if he was handcuffed when he escaped and removed them or if he had never been restrained, but police said Pryor did have a handcuff key on him at the time of his arrest.

Pryor called an accomplice to pick him up. That accomplice was arrested the day of the escape but Pryor was not with him.

Authorities searched for Pryor for five days, following up on tips and surveillance footage. They surveilled an area he was known to frequent and found Pryor boarding a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority bus. The bus was pulled over and Pryor was arrested.

Pryor has been in custody awaiting trial on murder charges for a death that happened when he was 14. He is being charged with homicide in the 2020 death of Tanya Harris, 54, who was shot in the head and found in an alley. Pryor also faces conspiracy and firearms charges.
