(NewsNation) — The family members of three Kansas City Chiefs fans who were found dead say weeks later, they still don’t have answers.

David Harrington, Clayton McGeeney and Ricky Johnson were found dead outside the Kansas City home of their friend Jordan Wilis, two days after they had gathered there to watch a Chiefs game.

“I would like to know that someone is really working on this case,” Harrington’s grandmother Marilyn Wingate told NewsNation. “I don’t see how it could have been an accident. There are too many holes that are not filled in, too many questions.”

Police haven’t determined a cause of death but they say they don’t suspect foul play, leaving many to speculate online that drugs have played a role in the deaths. Investigators are waiting for a toxicology report.

Willis’ attorney claims he fell asleep after saying goodbye to his friends and remained unaware his friends’ bodies were laying outside his house for two days. He added that Willis is heartbroken over his friends’ deaths.

Investigators say they don’t suspect murder.

But some family members are convinced they were killed. In an interview with NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo, Lorie Kruse, Harrington’s partner, says there is more to the story than police are letting on.

“David was murdered, whether it’s a drug or … It has to be, for three men to be dead. It doesn’t make any sense. It does not make any sense to have three men dead, laying in the yard, and him asleep for 48 hours,” Kruse said.
