SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A judge has restored the murder conviction of Lindsey Lowe, a Tennessee woman who killed her newborn twins by suffocation in 2011.
In October 2022, a Sumner County Judge granted a new trial for Lowe after her attorney argued she had poor legal representation at her first trial and at least one juror was biased against her.

The Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals determined there was no biased juror and Lowe’s conviction was reinstated.
Lowe has already served nine years of a 56-year sentence. She was released on her own recognizance in 2022 under the condition she stayed with her parents.
According to testimony at trial, Lowe hid her pregnancy and killed her newborn twins hours after giving birth to them on a toilet. It happened at her parent’s home in Sumner County in September of 2011 and she was arrested two months later.
