TIMES SQUARE, Manhattan (PIX11) – A man was stabbed with a machete in Times Square in New York City Thursday, police said.
The stabbing happened at West 45th Street and Broadway in Manhattan around 1 p.m., according to the NYPD.
The man was stabbed in both legs with a machete, police said. He was hospitalized and is expected to survive, authorities said.
Three suspects have been taken into custody, police said. Everyone involved in the incident knew each other, according to authorities.

Earlier this month, a tourist from Pennsylvania was randomly stabbed in the chest in Times Square, sources said. The tourist was walking with her daughter at West 43rd Street and Eighth Avenue when she was stabbed unprovoked on May 11, according to sources. Police arrested a 61-year-old man in the incident, authorities said.
A man was sentenced to prison earlier this month for another high-profile machete attack that happened near Times Square on New Year’s Eve in 2022. Trevor Bickford was sentenced to 27 years on May 9 for attacking three NYPD officers with a machete in a premeditated attack.
