MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man and woman in Mississippi are charged with stealing a gun from the scene of a wreck in which two people died.
Tunica County sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle wreck Monday at Casino Strip Extended and Kirby Road in Robinsonville. They found two vehicles with extensive damage.
The drivers of both vehicles were killed. The victims were identified by Tunica authorities as Nicholas Paul Stafford, 29, and Ruby Gene Watney, 36, both of Tate County.
During the investigation, authorities say they determined a firearm had been stolen from the scene of the accident.
Jonathan Parr, 59, of Hernando is charged with possession of a stolen firearm and felon in possession of a stolen firearm; Christina Brumback, 42, of Hernando is charged with accessory after the fact.
Both were taken into custody within 48 hours of the initial wreck call and booked into the Tunica County jail.
Investigators did not say how the suspects came across the gun or when they took it.
