FALLS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (NewsNation) — The suspect wanted in connection to the killings of at least three people in Falls Township, Pennsylvania, surrendered after he barricaded himself in a Trenton, New Jersey, residence, according to officials.

Police surrounded the shooting suspect, Andre Gordon Jr., 26, and were working to de-escalate the situation in Trenton. The shooter, who has ties to both Falls Township and Trenton, was said to be armed with an AR-15 assault weapon. Police said Gordon is currently homeless.

A SWAT team was able to safely rescue hostages through a second-floor window of the residence. The SWAT team proceeded to enter the residence following the release of the hostages.

Gordon has been accused of fatally shooting three people at two separate locations in Falls Township. He then reportedly carjacked a silver Honda CRV from a 44-year-old man outside a local Dollar General. The man was uninjured.

“There is an active shooter alert in Falls Township — we are monitoring a carjacking and a shooting in two sections of Falls Township.  I’m in touch with law enforcement officials as they pursue the suspect,” Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., confirmed on X.

Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn said Gordon broke into a residence and fatally shot his 52-year-old stepmother, Karen Gordon, and 13-year-old sister, Kera Gordon. Three others, including a minor, were inside the home at the time of the shooting but were able to hide and survive.

Gordon then broke into another house and killed 25-year-old Taylor Daniel, the mother of his two children. He also reportedly bludgeoned Daniel’s mother with an assault rifle. Schorn said the children were present when the shooting occurred.

Officials issued a shelter-in-place order for Bucks County residents early Saturday morning. It has since been lifted. The Falls Township Police Department asked all residents to lock their doors and move to a central and secure location away from windows.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro directed the state police to coordinate efforts with local law enforcement and provide whatever support is needed on the ground.

Officials canceled the Bucks County St. Patrick’s Day parade scheduled for Saturday morning due to the police activity, Pennsylvania State Sen. Steve Santarsiero posted to social media.
