CHICAGO (NewsNation) — At least 15 people were wounded in a drive-by shooting Halloween night on the west side of Chicago.

Chicago first responders arrived at the scene of the shooting, verifying multiple people were wounded by gunfire and one person was struck by a vehicle fleeing the scene.

The victim’s conditions vary from critical to non-life-threatening. There are no known fatalities at this time.

In a media briefing late Monday night, Chicago Police Supt. David Brown said the youngest victim is 3 years old. Two teenagers, ages 11 and 13, were also struck by bullets. The remaining victims are adults, Brown added.

The victims were transported to various local hospitals, including Stroger, Loyola, Northwestern and Mt. Sinai.

Police had previously reported that there were 13 shooting victims, but later corrected the record to reflect that a 14th shooting victim self-transported to a local hospital.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a crowd was gathered at the street corner prior to the shooting, attending a vigil unrelated to the incident.

Police said that two unidentified suspects occupying a dark SUV drove by and began shooting into the crowd around 9:30 p.m. Brown said the drive-by shooting lasted less than 3 seconds. The vehicle was last seen fleeing southbound from the scene.

The incident was also captured on video, though Brown said police do not yet have a motive. Police said they could not determine if the incident was retaliation or gang-related.

“This is a tragic situation, to find 14 individuals shot anywhere in the city as a tragic situation. It’s an unfortunate situation and to find a three-year-old and some young people have been shot in this particular case. It’s, it’s heartbreaking, to people to want to memorialize someone and ultimately become victims. So that is a challenge,” Chicago’s 28th Ward Alderman Jason Erwin said.

Detectives continue to canvass the area for evidence and ask anyone with information to submit an anonymous tip at cpdtip.com or call the telephone hotline at 311. There is a $15,000 reward has been offered for any information leading to the arrest of the alleged offenders.
