Suspects tunneled through wall before stealing from store: Sheriff
POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The search is on for two suspects accused of tunneling through a wall before stealing from a thrift store in Polk County, Florida, earlier this month.
The burglary occurred at the Supreme Bargains store on Recker Highway in Winter Haven around 5:55 a.m. Aug. 5, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Surveillance video shows the two suspects enter the store through the wall of an adjoining business before rummaging around the store. At one point, one of the suspects looked up at the camera while opening a bag.
The suspects allegedly filled bags with jewelry, designer purses and the cash register. They fled the store on a bicycle and a U-Haul pulling a trail, the sheriff’s office said.
