(NewsNation) — Several Tren de Aragua (TDA) members were arrested in San Antonio on Saturday during a multi-agency raid on an apartment complex.

Individuals involved with the violent Venezuelan gang have been entering the United States illegally and have committed crimes across the nation.

San Antonio Police Chief Bill McManus has vowed to crack down on the gang’s presence in the south-central Texas city.

“We are on to you, and we’re coming for you. We know where you are, and we’re coming for you,” McManus said following Saturday’s arrests.

The raid, which included local, state, and federal authorities, saw multiple Tren de Aragua members arrested after complaints alleging human trafficking, narcotics violations, and violent threats against building staff were made at the apartment complex.

According to police, 19 people were arrested; 16 Venezuelans and three U.S. citizens. Four were confirmed Tren de Aragua members and taken into custody by Homeland Security agents. Among those arrested, several of them had previously received deportation notices.

“We are on top of this TDA issue that seems to have become very public lately,” McManus added Saturday.

“[This] is just one example of that commitment. It’s an ongoing investigation. Even though we finished here at the complex, we are not done.”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott praised the arrests on X, saying, “Texas Law Enforcement is not messing around.

“They are taking out the dangerous Tren de Aragua Venezuelan gang block by block. Jail them or send them back. The results delivered by the Anti-Gang Centers are outstanding.”
