(NewsNation) — The family of a missing Texas A&M student believe he’s still out there and are hoping searchers will find Caleb Harris and bring him home.

Randy Harris, Caleb’s father, joined NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo to talk about how the search has been going since Caleb Harris disappeared Monday.

“We have the TEXSAR here, they’re a search and rescue team, they brought in boats, they brought in people, they brought the dogs in this afternoon,” Randy Harris said.

Randy Harris told Cuomo his son has no medical conditions or mental health issues that might have contributed to his disappearance, and he doesn’t have a habit of leaving without letting people know where he was going. Harris described his son as a normal 21-year-old man who loves to fish and hunt.

“Part of the rules is he has to have a friend with him,” Randy Harris said about his son’s hunting and fishing trips. “Luckily, he’s got two roommates that love to hunt and fish and so he’s always got somebody with him. He would never venture out at three in the morning to do anything like this.”

Caleb Harris was last seen in the early hours of Monday morning. He had walked his dog in the early morning hours, before 3 a.m., his father said, which wasn’t unusual for him. He returned home with the dog, then left again and has not been seen since. His father said his phone has been dead since then.

“Caleb’s missing without anything,” Randy Harris said. “No shoes, no wallet. His truck was locked, his keys are in the house.”

He noted that Caleb Harris had been preparing for school the next day, packing lunch and texting with his father about his plans before he disappeared.

Caleb Harris has brown hair and eyes, stands 5’11” and weighs around 180 pounds. Anyone with information is urged to call the Corpus Christi Police Department at 361-886-2840 or 361-886-2600.
