Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez movie to premiere amid divorce rumors
- Reports say Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are taking time apart
- The couple is reportedly not yet speaking to divorce lawyers
- Their movie 'Unstoppable' premieres in Toronto in September
(NewsNation) — “Unstoppable,” a new sports drama co-starring Jennifer Lopez and produced by her husband Ben Affleck, will have its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival in September.
The world premiere comes as rumors Affleck and Lopez are heading toward divorce are swirling, and the famous couple have yet to announce if they will attend the premiere together.
“Unstoppable” is being produced by Affleck’s production company, Artists Equity, which he co-founded with Matt Damon. William Goldenberg, who edited “Argo,” “Live by Night,” and “Air” for Affleck, is set to make his directorial debut on the project, according to IndieWire.
Per IMDB, the movie will tell the true story of Anthony Robles, a three-time All-American athlete born with one leg who won a national wrestling championship at Arizona State University.
Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez divorce rumors
Affleck, 51, and Lopez, 54, have not officially confirmed a breakup, but divorce seems increasingly inevitable for the couple, who first started dating in 2002 after starring in the movie “Gigli” together.
Affleck and Lopez planned to marry in 2003 but canceled the wedding and broke up in 2004.
Both Lopez and Affleck went on to marry other people and have children, but they eventually reunited, went public with their relationship and got married in Las Vegas in 2022.
Now, Hollywood rumor mills are buzzing as Affleck and Lopez have repeatedly appeared in public looking less than excited to be together.
Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez spend time apart
According to NewsNation’s Paula Froelich, Lopez and Affleck even spent Mother’s Day apart, with Lopez in Paris with her child Emme and Affleck 5,600 miles away in Los Angeles celebrating with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their children.
“Jennifer loves Mother’s Day,” a friend of Lopez’s told Froelich. “I was shocked Ben wasn’t with her for the big day. She loves being pampered and having special days.”
This comes amid TMZ reporting the couple are quietly trying to sell the $60 million Beverley Hills home they bought in 2023 after they got married.
Affleck has reportedly already moved out of the house, shifting to a rental in Brentwood that better suits him.
According to Froelich, Lopez has come to the realization that her two-year marriage to Affleck is over and hit the Met Gala carpet on her own in May.
Jennifer Lopez having a horrific 2024
News of the upcoming September “Unstoppable” world premiere follows an already tough year for Lopez’s creative projects.
Her first studio album in 10 years, “This is Me… Now,” was panned by critics and fans, debuting at 38 on the Billboard charts before falling fast.
In May, Lopez canceled her “This Is Me…Now/Live” tour in support of the album after a report of poor ticket sales. Live Nation said in a statement Lopez has canceled her 2024 North American tour to “be with her children, family and close friends.”
This comes amid reports that her Las Vegas residency, worth around $90 million, is now in jeopardy.
