EDGERTON, Kan. (WDAF) — A body discovered late Friday morning in Johnson County, Kansas, has been identified as actor Cole Brings Plenty, the sheriff’s office said.

The 27-year-old was wanted by the Lawrence Police Department following allegations of domestic violence.

Just before noon on Friday, Johnson County deputies found an unoccupied vehicle near Edgerton. Deputies said they checked the area and discovered a deceased man in a wooded area away from the vehicle.

Cole Brings Plenty, nephew of “Yellowstone” star Mo Brings Plenty, acted in the “Yellowstone” series spinoff “1923.”

Mo Brings Plenty had posted a missing persons poster on Instagram this week, stating his nephew had been missing since Sunday, March 31. Nexstar’s KSNT reported that officers had been called to an apartment in Lawrence, Kansas, that day on reports of a woman screaming for help. As part of their investigation, police said they had “identified [Cole Brings Plenty] as the suspect, have probable cause for his arrest, and issued an alert to area agencies.”

Traffic cameras allegedly showed the actor leaving the city after the incident.

The investigation into his death is ongoing. A cause of death was not immediately released. Anyone with information is asked to call the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office at (913) 782-0720.
