SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Interesting in owning a piece of movie history? During Comic-Con San Diego, the Comic-Con Museum will be auctioning off actual movie memorabilia, props, storyboard illustrations, signed photos and much more.

Julien’s Auctions, Turner Classic Movies and the Comic-Con Museum in San Diego collaborated for this inaugural event, which the museum says will be just the “first chapter in a series of annual celebrations designed to bring collectors and enthusiasts closer to the most beloved genre films and franchises of our time.”

Since Monday, July 15, the Comic-Con Museum has been full of iconic props, costumes, and production materials from “Harry Potter,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” “Spider-Man,” “X-Men,” “Batman,” “Superman,” “Captain America,” “Ant-Man,” “G.I. Joe,” “Looney Tunes,” Warner Brothers Studios and more. The exhibit will be on display for two weeks until the auction closes on the final day of San Diego Comic-Con.

If you want a piece of movie magic, don’t miss “Comic-Con Museum Presents Julien’s Auctions & TCM 2024 Spotlight Series: Harry Potter & Other Heroes.”

Some of the auction items include an original Slytherin robe, a Hogwarts decree frame prop, and even a life-size Spider-Man figure. These aren’t replicas, they are actual artifacts from the movie sets.

The immersive experience includes special guest appearances and exclusive behind-the-scenes reveals, culminating in a live auction on Sunday, July 28 that will “ignite the bidding wars of a lifetime,” the museum said.

Movie fans can register and bid at juliensauctions.com/en/articles/accio-auction-comic-con-conjures-up-a-magical-hollywood-memorabilia-event.

Currently, the most expensive item is the “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” Knight Chess Head Prop, which is going for $20,000 as of Tuesday afternoon. A two-way mirror shard prop from “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” has a current bid of $10,000, while a Slytherin House Student Robe from “Harry Potter” has a current bid of $5,000.

A “Batman” (1989) Jon Peters Contact Sheet Production Binder has a current bid of $4,000, while a Chris Evans “Steve Rogers/Captain American” Student USO Shield Prop from “Captain America: The First Avenger” has a current bid of $3,000.

On the other end of the spectrum, there are also some more affordable items up for bid for those who don’t want to break the bank. The current bid for a X Betty Boop Original Artwork piece is $25, while a Richard Donner-signed Superman Poster has a current bid of $50.

Several movie props have starting bids of $100, like a Pig Ear Set Dressing Prop, Tentacle Set Dressing Prop, Occamy Egg Prop Set Dressing and French Ministry of Magic Metal Feather Prop from “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” You can also snag a “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” crew cap with a starting bid of $100.

Several “X2: X Men United” storyboard illustrations are estimated to bid in the $100 to $200 range.

You can even own your own Production-Used Clapperboard from “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” a Christian Bale “Bruce Wayne/Batman” Batarang Prop from “Batman Begins,” or a “Dark Knight” production-made Christian Bale “Bruce Wayne/Batman” Cowl Prop from the Dark Knight.
