(NewsNation) — It’s been a fabulous year for close friends Demi Moore and Zac Posen.

Moore received standing ovations at Cannes for her movie “The Substance,” a dark comedic satire on aging in Hollywood, stunned on the red carpet with her fantastic figure and fresh face and started a fresh new flirtation with the newly single Joe Jonas.

Meanwhile, her longtime pal Posen was just named Gap’s new EVP and creative director — and immediately turned the flailing ship around … so what’s a successful duo do? They go shopping of course.

The two grabbed their pal, stylist Kate Young, and headed straight to Sotheby’s to scope out the gems in the auction house’s Magnificent Jewels collection, which is going under the gavel Friday (June 7).

A showroom spy (the collection is open to the public) said the group was particularly interested in a coral, emerald and diamond bracelet by Van Cleef & Arpels (opening bid: $50,000), a sapphire, emerald and diamond jabot pin by Cartier (estimate: $30,000-$50,000), and diamond ear clips by JAR that are set to sell at upwards of $300,000 (current opening bid is $140,000).

But one of the most unusual and genius pieces in the collection is the “Zip” necklace by Van Cleef & Arpels. Renée Puissant, the Maison’s artistic director from 1926 to 1942 and daughter of Alfred Van Cleef, was commissioned by the Duchess of Windsor in 1938 to design the piece, which features a functional zipper motif that can be opened and closed, allowing it to be worn in multiple ways, as a necklace or as a bracelet. The piece is estimated at $300,000-$500,000 and has an opening bid of $220,000.

Moore is a noted jewelry collector, wearing never-before-seen jewels by Cartier at the Met Gala this spring.
