Disney’s former Fort Wilderness cabins are now for sale
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — If you want to own a piece of Disney history, an Orlando company is selling cabins that were once housed at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
A company called J&J Venture Group has listed the cabins on its website and Facebook Marketplace for $49,900 apiece.
Each of the one-bedroom, one-bathroom units is about 500 square feet, with the capacity to sleep six people (two in the bedroom, two in bunk beds and two on a sleeper sofa). The furnishings and appliances are included, per the listing.
The company adds that each cabin is a “great investment property option for Airbnb, Vrbo, tiny home resort, rental, and many other possibilities!”
The cabins, however, do not include the original decks, stairs or skirting that appeared outside the units on Disney property.
A representative for J&J Venture Group was not immediately available to comment on how many cabins are available, though the company’s site mentioned “a limited number of units.” Delivery is available for customers within 25 miles of Orlando, while additional charges apply for those outside the delivery range, according to the company’s FAQ page.
The units listed for sale, all of which were built between 1998 and 2001, are being replaced at Disney World’s Fort Wilderness with more modern cabins. The new units are scheduled to open July 1, 2024.
The new cabins are part of a collection of improvement projects at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, including pool and walking trail enhancements.
