LOS ANGELES (News Nation) — The FBI served a search warrant at the Southern California mansion of Youtube star Jake Paul, authorities confirmed Wednesday morning.
“The FBI executed a federal search warrant in connection with an ongoing investigation,” the FBI said in a statement. “The affidavit in support of the search warrant has been sealed by a judge and I am, therefore, prohibited from commenting as to the nature of the investigation. No arrests are planned.”
More details about the investigation were not available.
The warrant comes after Paul threw a large house party at the Calabasas mansion July 11, which drew the attention of city officials.
Calabasas Mayor Alicia Weintraub said authorities would begin to fine people $100 for not wearing masks and shut down large gatherings.
“It’s completely unacceptable to be interacting with people like that during this time,” said Weintraub referring to the house party. “People need to be wearing masks and people need to be keeping their distance. You can’t be having parties with over 100 people.”
Videos captured from the 23-year-old’s party showed dozens of people together without masks or social distancing. In clips partygoers climbed onto a raised excavator crane and pulled a car into the packed lobby of the mansion.
In June, Arizona police said Paul would face misdemeanor charges following a riot at a Scottsdale mall.
Paul is a popular Youtuber and social media influencer with over 20 million Youtube subscribers.
