(NewsNation)—Fast food chain Wendy’s announced a new seasonal Frosty flavor that tastes like orange creamsicles.
The limited flavor will blend the chain’s Vanilla Frosty with orange flavor to call up the taste of orange dreamsicles made of vanilla ice cream in an orange sherbert shell.
Invented in the 1930s, orange dreamsicles are technically no longer available, having been replaced by orange creamsicles. Nostalgia for the summer treat has led to many new interpretations, from alcoholic drinks to recipes for desserts and other treats.
The Orange Dreamsicle Frosty joins other seasonal flavors Wendy’s has offered in the past, including peppermint, strawberry and pumpkin spice.
Wendy’s confirmed rumors of the limited edition flavor on TikTok, announcing the new Frosty will be available starting March 19, the first day of spring.
The flavor will replace the Vanilla Frosty usually sold, while Chocolate Frosties will continue to be offered.
The announcement comes not long after the chain backed off a proposed plan to offer surge pricing that would change during peak hours, prompting backlash from consumers.
