‘Identity Thief’ says he’s behind attempted Graceland auction
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The New York Times may have just “unraveled the mystery” surrounding an attempted foreclosure and auction of Graceland.
On Tuesday, the newspaper published an interview with a self-described “identity thief” who claims he’s the one responsible for the chaos.
In the interview, the “identity thief” says his “ring” is based in Nigeria and that Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough “beat him at this own game.”
As NewsNation affiliate WREG reported last week, Keough’s attorneys blocked the sale of Graceland, telling the judge the documents with Lisa Marie Presley’s signature had been forged.
While the FBI office in Memphis is declining to comment, some news outlets are reporting that the Bureau is still looking for answers.
We will update this story as more information becomes available.
