(NewsNation) — Jennifer Lopez has canceled her ‘This Is Me … Live’ summer tour, according to multiple reports citing the entertainer’s newsletter.
“‘Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends,’” the announcement reads.
According to the newsletter, fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will receive an automatic refund. Those who purchased tickets via third-party websites should contact their respective points of purchase.
NewsNation’s Paula Froelich reports it’s already been a rough start to J. Lo’s summer.
It was recently reported her Las Vegas residency, worth a whopping $90 million, was in jeopardy due to her album flopping and lagging tour sales.
According to the New York Post, Lopez “had been in talks with MGM Grand on a guaranteed $1 million a show for 90 dates starting next year. But casino executives have lately grown skittish over abysmal ticket sales for her first tour in five years following the release of her ‘This is Me … Now’ album in February — with poor demand having forced the cancellation of seven shows this summer.”
Lopez, however, isn’t alone. Massive tours are struggling to sell.
Pitchfork reports that blues rock duo The Black Keys canceled their arena tour, which was due to start in September, in favor of smaller venues. Tickets for that tour were only available for a short time before the announcement.
