LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas Metropolitan police are investigating reports of a man who climbed to the top of the Sphere Wednesday morning.

Police received the first call about the climber shortly after 10 a.m.

“We are responding to reports of an individual scaling a building near the 200 block of Sands Avenue. Please avoid the area due to emergency vehicles responding,” Metro said in a statement.

The man can be seen on the top of the Las Vegas entertainment structure which opened at the end of September in 2023.

Police advise motorists to expect road closures in the area which is just east of the Las Vegas Strip behind the Venetian Hotel.

This is a developing story.
