Tank Town USA invites visitors to crush cars, fire machine guns

(NewsNation) — A unique experience in northern Georgia allows visitors to drive tanks and fire machine guns around an adult playground designed for safe destruction.
Tank Town USA was launched by owner Todd Liebross, who says each reservation looks a little different as people are able to choose what kind of experience they want.
“If it’s muddy, we put on some mud boots, and then we get right to it depending on what they decide to do. So it’s usually crushing cars. But you know, it can be a whole host of things,” Liebross said during an appearance on “NewsNation Now.”
Since it opened, Tank Town USA has had a wide range of visitors, including a wife who beat cancer, a 91-year-old World War II veteran and a mom treating her new teen drivers.
“I’ve been doing it 12 years. I think I’ve crushed close to 3,600, 3,700 cars at this point with customers. And people always ask, ‘When are you going to hang it up?’ And I say, ‘Well, when I quit smiling going over the cars, that’s when it’s time to let it go,'” Liebross said.
Liebross says he was inspired to launch this idea when he decided to pivot his career.
“I needed a career change and basically looked around. I saw someone in Europe doing something similar and thought it’d be something cool to do and went with it,” he said.
