(NewsNation) — At just 7 years old, Abel Beck is going viral on TikTok for helping with his family’s flooring as they remodel their home to live debt-free.
The video has received more than 36 million views, a surprise to the Becks. Heather Beck, Abel’s mom, began sharing their home renovation journey a couple of months ago with just five followers before posting this video.
“The next morning I woke up, this little guy laid floor, and everybody thought it was amazing,” she recalled Friday on “Morning in America.”
Weston Beck, Abel’s dad, noted that his son often figures out things on his own but was surprised to see Abel laying flooring.
“I heard him hitting the wood with the hammer, so I just did that,” Abel Beck explained about how he began laying the flooring.
“It’s cool seeing Abel doing this stuff that I wouldn’t think he would be able to do, and that he actually can do it,” said Hayden Beck, Abel’s 13-year-old brother.
The family sold their 3,000-square-foot home to downsize and live debt-free in the home they’re now remodeling.
Heather Beck said she chose to share their journey online to inspire others who are tired of mortgage payments and constant financial worries.
“I thought if we could sell our house and find something that we can almost pay all cash for, it would be so perfect,” she said. “We wouldn’t have to worry about having a mortgage, and we’d be able to do more fun stuff as a family. So, that was our main goal.”
