ST. LOUIS – A kid who had his wish granted at NewsNation affiliate KTVI last year is giving back to others this weekend. His mother says that he now has no more brain tumors. The family is setting up a lemonade stand to raise money for local cancer charities in Missouri.

Patchin has been dealing with significant medical treatments this year, including a trip to Houston for surgery and chemotherapy, followed by a return home for further clinical trials. He spent a considerable part of the school year at St. Jude in Memphis, Tennessee, undergoing multiple brain surgeries.

The good news is that Drew’s most recent surgery successfully removed the remaining tumor. His mother, Jennifer, says he currently has no brain tumors. Drew and his family are now spending more time at home, transitioning back to a sense of normalcy.

Drew will be taking donations at a lemonade stand near Parkway Northeast Middle School on Sunday. Proceeds will benefit the Bennett Project and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, both of which have significantly helped Drew. The family is excited to give back to the organizations that have supported them.

Patchin had one of his wishes granted a year ago at KTVI when he co-hosted KTVI’s 9 a.m. show with Tim Ezell. Drew enjoyed a red carpet treatment, signed autographs for the KTVI staff, and demonstrated his super ninja skills.
