BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) – Bristol and North Haven police officers gathered recently to support and celebrate the daughter of a fallen police lieutenant.
On Oct. 12, 2022, Bristol Police Lt. Dustin DeMonte and Sgt. Alex Hamzy were shot and killed in an ambush while responding to a 911 call.
Investigators said Officer Alec Lurato- who was wounded in the attack- fired a single shot, killing the gunman.
Last week, their fellow officers showed up to cheer on DeMonte’s daughter Phoebe at her preschool graduation.
“Congratulations Phoebe now it is Summer time for you!” police said in a Facebook post about the gathering.
