Alabama teen passes away after battle with coronavirus
HOOVER, Ala. (NewsNation) — A family is mourning the loss of a teen who died in the hospital Wednesday night, after testing positive for COVID-19.
Chloe Rollins, 19, was diagnosed with the coronavirus on Aug. 2 and was then put on a ventilator under sedation until her passing.
Her parents, Stacy and Danny Rollins created a Facebook group called “PrayersforChloe” asking others to keep their daughter in their prayers. They would regularly post updates about their daughter’s condition.
Then around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday night, Stacy Rollins posted a sad and final update, “Our angel is now with God.”
Just earlier that day, NewsNation affiliate WIAT spoke to two of Chloe’s teachers, who described the teen with Down syndrome as lively, vibrant and always ready to give a hug.
Chloe was also known to have a crush on country music singer, Blake Shelton.
In a video from 2019, she can be heard at Shelton’s concert yelling, “I love you, Blake!”
One of her teachers reached out to the singer on Twitter, with Shelton responding that he was praying for Chloe.
