SANTA MONICA, Calif. (NewsNation Now) — Ring’s latest camera is literally taking security to new heights. The Ring Always Home Cam is a flying drone that can cruise around your home to detect disturbances or check more minor things — like if you left your curling iron on.
The compact, lightweight, autonomously flying indoor camera was made to provide greater visibility when you’re not home, Ring said. When used with a Ring Alarm, the Always Home Camera will fly to potential disturbances when the alarm sensor is triggered.
When the camera is not in use, it remains in the dock where the camera is blocked, according to Ring.
And don’t worry, you won’t run into the Home Cam when you are going downstairs for a midnight snack, the camera makes a sound when flying through the air so you don’t collide with it.
The Ring Always Home Camera is scheduled to be released in 2021 and will retail for $249.99 on Ring’s website and Amazon.
The company also announced it is bringing video End-to-End Encryption to its security cameras.
