Body found in nature preserve identified as missing St. Pete teen Allister Nasr

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A body found in Florida’s Weedon Island Preserve has been identified as missing teenager Allister Nasr, according to police.

The St. Petersburg Police Department said the 17-year-old’s body was found “deep in the Weedon Island Preserve” on Friday.

A Monday release stated the Pinellas County medical examiner confirmed the remains belonged to Allister.

Allister was last seen on March 1 when he left his home on a bicycle. His disappearance launched an extensive search.

“We focused on the Weeden Preserve because of his bike and the fact that there was a video of him coming in the front gate on, I believe, the first,” said Billy Lane, a member of the volunteer group We Are the Essentials. “This was very concerning to us, as this is the last location he was known to be at.”

The Nasr family released a statement to NewsNation local affiliate WFLA saying they are grieving and want to maintain their privacy:

It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our youngest son, Allister.

He was a kind, loving, and gentle soul who never raised his voice to anyone—a devoted son, brother, and grandson who brought warmth and kindness to all who knew him.We are deeply grateful to the community, friends, and his school for their support during our search for him.

Your kindness has meant so much to our family. As we mourn this unimaginable loss, we ask for privacy to grieve and honor Allister’s memory in peace.

Thank you for your understanding and compassion.

At this time, the medical examiner has not yet confirmed the cause of death. However, police said there were no signs of trauma or foul play.
