(NewsNation) — Zelig Williams, a Broadway dancer from South Carolina who has worked on shows such as “Hamilton” and “MJ the Musical,” has been missing for nearly two weeks.
There is now a nationwide effort to bring him home.
Zelig Williams, according to The State, was last seen at his home on Oct. 3 in Columbia. He was reportedly staying with his mother in the city and hosting dance workshops there, NBC News wrote.
On the morning of Oct. 3, Williams’ mother says she saw her son and that everything seemed normal when he left. Later that day, though, one of Williams’ friends living in New York City reached out to his mom to let her know they received a text alert suggesting he was in a car crash. Two days later, his car was found near Congaree National Park, The State wrote.
However, the car didn’t have any major damage, and Williams was nowhere to be found. CNN reports that his family has now hired a private investigator to assist in their search efforts.
Williams’ mother is asking anyone to reach out to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department if they have any details on where her son is. She says he requires medication, and without it, he may be in a vulnerable state.
Actor Hugh Jackman, who Williams worked with on his 2019 tour, “The Man. The Music. The Show,” posted a story on Instagram also asking people to pass along any information about him to the police.
