SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — The search for missing Sumner County teen Sebastian Rogers has stretched into a second week though authorities announced the search will now be scaled down.

According to Deputy Chief Eric Craddock with the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, the decision to scale back efforts does not “come lightly.”

“This does not diminish our commitment to finding Sebastian,” Craddock said. “This is simply us transitioning from the ground search to the investigative side.”

Despite no sightings of the teen, Craddock said officials have “no leads, no details to indicate that Sebastian is not alive.” Sumner County EMA Director Ken Weidner said officials will continue to man a command post in the area, with teams ready to go if they get any leads.

On Monday, crews again met at the command center around 7 a.m. for another day of searching.

The search has expanded in more ways than one. According to Weidner, the search radius has spanned at least five miles, through the urban and rural portions of Hendersonville.

Specialized search teams searched from the ground and air, with mountainous experts searching in caves and members of the TN National Guard walking from door to door.

The search utilized drones and helicopters, horses, search dogs, dive teams and as many as 200 officials walking the search zone.

Residents are still encouraged to check their property at least twice a day and check their trail cameras. Residents are asked to search in pairs because a single person could be mistaken for Sebastian.
