‘New information’ sparks renewed interest in Caitlin Denison disappearance
MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Texas Department of Public Safety is seeking information in the 2018 disappearance of 19-year-old Caitlin Denison, of Reno, NV. Investigators said there is a “renewed interest” in the case based on new information gathered by the Texas Rangers and those looking into the case believe the public may have key information to help get this cold case solved.
On January 9, 2018, Denison met a man, and then, together, they flew from Reno to Midland. The unidentified man is known to have worked as a truck driver in the Permian Basin oil industry, but Denison never told her family the man’s name.
Once the pair landed in Midland, investigators said they believe Denison stayed with the man in his RV, which may have been parked in West Odessa.
The following day, on January 10, 2018, the RV was moved to a location in Midland south of IH-20/Loop 250. That same day, Denison advised family and friends that she was at the Wal-Mart at 4517 N. Midland Drive with the man but was “afraid for her life”.
Investigators also believe the pair visited the Domino’s Pizza on Linda Avenue in Odessa and then went to Rick’s Cabaret in an attempt to find Denison employment. That is the last day Denison had contact with any of her family and friends.
The attached flyer contains additional photos and information on Caitlin Denison. Investigators remain hopeful that someone may have seen something or may have information to assist in this investigation.
