(NewsNation) — Bill O’Reilly is “90% percent sure” Florida Sen. Marco Rubio will be former President Donald Trump’s vice president pick.
O’Reilly shared his prediction on NewsNation’s “On Balance with Leland Vittert,” emphasizing that Rubio as a running mate would help secure the Hispanic vote.
But the senator isn’t O’Reilly’s first pick.
“Who he should pick is Nikki Haley. That would assure him a victory in November, in my opinion, because independent women will take a look,” O’Reilly said. “But he doesn’t like Nikki Haley.”
In a recent NewsNation/DecisionDesk HQ poll, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley won the plurality of votes for Trump’s vice president with 16.11%.
Her support, however, was mostly attributed to Democrats. Within her own party, Haley received 14.9% of votes — comparable to Florida Sen. Marco Rubio‘s 14.4%.
Notably, an even larger group of voters said they would prefer to see somebody else (30.86%) on the former president’s ticket this November.
No matter who Trump chooses as his vice president, O’Reilly believes the pair will face not incumbent President Joe Biden but Vice President Kamala Harris come November.
“It’s inevitable that President Biden will not run. … It’s probably going to be the vice president that takes the slot on the ticket. That’s the logical scenario,” he added.
