(NewsNation Now) — Canadian lawmakers expressed increasing worry Tuesday about the economic effects of disruptive demonstrations after the busiest border crossing between the U.S. and Canada became partially blocked by truckers protesting vaccine mandates and other COVID-19 restrictions.

Leland Vittert takes an in-depth look at the protest and the media coverage surrounding it. Harold Jonker, a truck driver with 27 years of experience, also joins the show.

Rep. Mark Green, an emergency room physician and Republican from Tennessee, joins “On Balance” to discuss mask mandates in schools across the country.

Under a lot of scrutiny, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said there’s a direct correlation between the rise in carjackings and remote learning, in a news conference Monday discussing how the city is working to curb the problem.

WGN Radio host Anna Davlantes weighs in on the mayor’s comments.

The Texas Department of Public Safety on Monday apprehended nine people whom officials believe were involved in a smuggling operation. The driver fled the area.

NewsNation reporter Robert Sherman was on a ride-along with Lt. Chris Olivarez in Del Rio, Texas when the pursuit took place. NewsNation captured exclusive video footage of the investigation.

Sherman joins the show with a live report.
