America will have a great president again someday: Bill O’Reilly

(NewsNation) — Bill O’Reilly says the legacy of the president we will choose in November will, in time, come down to this: Who will put the welfare of the people above their own self-interest?

In his new book, “Confronting the Presidents: No Spin Assessments from Washington to Biden,” O’Reilly breaks down what makes a great president. The book is an instant #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list.

“That distinguishes you as a person of respect,” O’Reilly said. “Are you putting the welfare of other people above your own welfare? We don’t see that much.”

O’Reilly explains his findings of his top commanders in chief, as well as the presidents he says were among the worst in a special report with Leland Vittert, host of NewsNation’s “On Balance with Leland Vittert.”

Despite calling the modern presidency “a machine,” O’Reilly believes we will see another president that we can call “great.”

“I think that someone will come along to reunite the country, to a certain extent, because we’re too divided now, obviously we’re the most divided.”

He said for the next president to be great, either former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris needs to put the welfare of the people before self-interests.

“But we need a president, and not only that, but leaders on all levels that will say, look, I might lose, but I’m going to do the right thing. And this is why I believe it’s the right thing to do.”
