(NewsNation) — Bill O’Reilly tells “On Balance with Leland Vittert” that both major party presidential nominees are self-inflicting wounds when it comes to policy, whether it’s former President Donald Trump‘s mean, extreme rhetoric or Vice President Kamala Harris‘ nonspecific policy pitches.

“Both candidates are what they call tone deaf,” O’Reilly said.

He told NewsNation that Trump “should be up by seven or eight [points] on the economy and the border,” but his consistent jabs and overzealous claims prevent him from completely overtaking Harris.

O’Reilly thinks the Democratic nominee, on the other hand, relies on storytelling rather than policy points.

“Answering every question with you were ‘raised in a middle-class home above some child care center’ is not an answer, and it’s making you look foolish,” O’Reilly said.
